Kendriya Vidyalaya Idukki is one of the most prestigious educational institutions of Idukki. This centre of excellence which was newly opened in the academic year 2008-2009 under civil sector is temporarily housed at Painavu. Later in 2015, it is shifted to its own permanent campus in Kuyilimala, Painavu. It is a 2 section school upto class XIIth with a strength of more than 640 students and 24 staff on rolls and has all along been striving to achieve academic excellence and development in the total personality of the students.
