About

Here is the development of our reputed school. The Kshatriya Vidhyasala Board has made constant efforts for the growth of our institution. First, Hindu Primary School was started by Hindu Nadar on November 26, 1889, with 32 students. To raise funds to provide free education, an urban pot was given to each family to put a handful of rice on the table daily. At the end of the month, the school accountant collected the rice and sold it to get money. In 1892, to start the middle school, Mr. L.P.S. Shanmuga Nadar donated Rs. 5,000, and sixty munificent people provided Rs. 5000. Then the school's name changed to Kshatriya Vidhyasala on February 7, 1895. Next, it changed to high school in 1902.

In 1911, the empowering Saraswathi Vidyasala School for Boys was started as the first branch of the Kshatriya Vidhyasala Managing Board. Then it changed to co-education in 1938. In 1920, the nurturing Subramania Vidhyasala Elementry School was started as a third branch. In 1955, the resilient Thiruvalluvar Vidhyasala Elementary School was started. In 1962, Balor Vidhyasala Nursery School was started. In 1964, the great K. Kamaraj Vidhyasala School was started. In 1969, the dynamic K.P. Peria Karupanadar Elementary School was started. In the history of the KVS managing board, on October 4, 1970, the first English Medium School was started. For effective management, the new dedicated board was created in 1998 for the English Medium School.

On account of the centennial celebration, our esteemed institution, "Centenary School," was started as the 9th branch in 1989. First, it was started as a Tamil- medium school. In the need of CBSE School, it changed into the enriching Kshatriya Vidhyasala Nursery and Primary School on June 28, 2010, with 53 students, 6 teachers, and 5 non-teaching staff.

Though there are many English-medium schools in Virudhunagar district, the purpose, aim, and drive of this school is to equip the child with the most excellent technological proficiency so that the student may function with clarity and efficiency in the modern world. A far more important purpose than this is to create the right climate and environment so that the child may develop fully as a complete human being. Our school is located in the heart of the town, near the government hospital. Each and every year, the school added the next level of higher class for the students to have their schooling under one roof. We have started Grade 3 in 2012, Grade 4 in 2013, Grade 5 in 2014, Grade 6 in 2015, Grade 7 in 2016, and Grade 8 in 2017.

We have a house system in place since Grade 4 to encourage students to have a healthy competitive spirit. Other than the regular scholastic and co-scholastic skills, we give the same importance to classical music, music classes, silambam, bharanatiyam, karate, SOF Olympiad examinations, aptitude examinations, math labs, and robotics for the students. At Centenary, we take extreme pride in our staff-to-student ratio of 25:1. All the classrooms in our school are well lit and equipped with air conditioning, audio-visual facilities, projectors, computers, sophisticated furniture, and digital content. Another magnificent building was constructed in 2017. In that, we have a majestic library and lab facilities (physics, chemistry, biology, computers, and math). We have got affiliation from CBSE Delhi for the classes 9th and 10th in 2018 and for the classes 11th and 12th in October 2020. We have well-trained staff for the sports, which include basketball, football, throw ball, etc. And now we are standing proudly with 611 students, 47 teaching staff, and 55 non-teaching staff, continuing the new updating of the modern era
