GOVERNMENT POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE, MOHANUR–637015, Pettapalayam Village, Mohanur, Namakkal(Dt), Tamilnadu is an AICTE approved institution, which is functioning under the control of the Directorate of Technical education, Chennai.
This Polytechnic College is situated in a greenish environment at the northern bank of river Cauvery at Pettapalayam Village. This Polytechnic College is located at a distance of 2 Kms from Mohanur bus stand in Mohanur to Paramathi-Velur road. The nearest Railway station is Mohanur at 2 Kms.
Previously this Polytechnic College was functioned in the name of The Salem Co-operative Sugar Mills Polytechnic College since the year of 1984 (i.e. for the past 3 decades). Now, this Polytechnic College has been converted into GOVERNMENT POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE by the Government of Tamilnadu from the academic year 2018-2019 as per G.O.(Ms) No.28/Higher Education (B2) Department,dated: 31.01.2018.
