his polytechnic college was started in the year 1981 at Aranthangi to give a fillip to education to this backward area. It was initially housed in temporary sheds located at Azhianilai on the outskirts of Aranthangi. It moved to its present location with permanent buildings on the Aranthangi – Avudaiyarkoil Highway in the year 1983. Situated on a sprawling campus of 20 hectares in has an imposing main building and additional buildings for housing the laboratories and workshops. The new buildings were declared opened by His Excellency the Governor of Tamil Nadu on November 1983.
A new block consisting of classrooms and laboratories has come up with World Bank assistance.
Two hostels for men and a separate hostel for women, fully furnished provide comfort and the right climate to the students.
