Nehru Gram Bharati (Deemed to be University) is a rural university in India, located in the state of Uttar Pradesh near the Ganges River. Established in 2008, it is one of the few higher education institutions in India centered in rural areas. The university was conceived by India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, and the foundation stone was laid in 1962.
