he SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Ramapuram Campus, located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is a constituent campus of the SRMIST deemed-to-be university. It was established in 2004 as part of SRMIST's expansion to offer quality education across multiple disciplines.
SRMIST itself was founded in 1985 as SRM Engineering College in Kattankulathur, near Chennai. In 2002, it was granted deemed university status under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, and later renamed SRM Institute of Science and Technology.
