About
Founded on April 3, 1837, by Rev. John Anderson of the Church of Scotland, Madras Christian College (MCC) in Chennai is one of Asia's oldest extant colleges. Initially established as a school, it evolved into a college offering F.A. and B.A. courses by the mid-19th century.
MCC has a rich history of academic excellence and has been a pioneer in liberal arts and sciences education in India. The college moved to its current Tambaram campus in 1937 and continues to be affiliated with the University of Madras while functioning autonomously
