Banasthali Vidyapith is a Deemed University. It is located in the Vanasthali town of Tonk district of Rajasthan state. The University was a Vidhyapith earlier. Banasthali Vidyapith is a fully residential women's university which offers an integrated system. Historically, On October 6, 1935, Smt. Ratan Shastri and Pandit Hiralal Shastri founded Banasthali to fill up the vacuum caused by the death of their daughter Shantabai. They had high expectations from her that she would work for women's causes when she grew up but destiny ordained otherwise. This institute has made use of the autonomy provided under the deemed university status. Banasthali has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with 'A' Grade (Five star Rating). The University is a recipient of SANTBAL Award in the year 2000 for the services in the field of all round education of women.
